Elative of حَقِير(ḥaqīr, low, mean, vile; contemptible; despicable; miserable), from the root ح ق ر(ḥ-q-r).

أَحْقَر (ʾaḥqar) (feminine حُقْرَى(ḥuqrā), masculine plural أَحَاقِر(ʾaḥāqir), feminine plural حُقْرَيَات(ḥuqrayāt))
