اِتَّكَأَ (ittakaʾa) VIII, non-past يَتَّكِئُ‎‎ (yattakiʾu)

  1. to lean on, to recline, to lie at table [+ ‎عَلىَ‎(object) = on]
    • 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 56:15-16:
      عَلَى سُرُرٍ مَّوْضُونَةٍ مُّتَّكِئِينَ عَلَيْهَا مُتَقَابِلِينَ
      ʿalā sururin mmawḍūnatin mmuttakiʾīna ʿalayhā mutaqābilīna
      (They will be) on ornamented thrones, reclining on them, facing each other.
