Inherited from Proto-Turkic *yidge (jujube); cognate with Azerbaijani iydə, Bashkir еләк (yelək), Chuvash ҫырла (śyrla), Kazakh жидек (jidek), Kyrgyz жийде (jiyde), Tatar җиләк (ciläk), Turkmen igde and Uzbek jiyda.
