Etymology
[edit]Inherited from Middle Hindi بھانجا (bhanja),[1] from Prakrit 𑀪𑀸𑀬𑀡𑀺𑀚𑁆𑀚 (bhāyaṇijja) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit भागिनेय (bhāginēya).[2][3]
