Etymology

From Middle Persian tʾhtk' (taxtag, tablet, plank, (chess) board), from tʾht' (taxt, throne) and the suffix -k' (-ag). Compare Old Armenian տախտակ (taxtak) and Arabic تختج (taxtaj), Lua error in Module:parameters at line 95: Parameter 1 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "MIr." is not valid.
