Etymology

1. recreation, entertainment; stroll
   • 1912 October 1, Tercüman-ı Hakikat‎^[1], Istanbul, page 1, column 4:

     بلغارستانده، صربستانده «حرب» سوزی امور عادیه‌دن اولدی. هر كس، تنزه ایستر كبی حرب ایستیور.

     Bulgaristanda, sırbistanda "harb" sözü umur-i adiyeden oldu. Herkes, tenezzüh ister gibi harb istiyor.

     In Bulgaria and Serbia the word "war" is on everybody's lips. Everybody longs for war as if it were a walk in the park.
