خَاتَم الذَهَب • (ḵātam aḏ-ḏahab) m

1. Used other than figuratively or idiomatically: see خَاتَم (ḵātam),‎ ذَهَب (ḏahab).
   • 7th century CE, Ṣaḥīḥ al-Buḵāriyy, 78:246:

     وَنَهَانَا عَنْ سَبْعٍ، عَنْ خَاتَمِ الذَّهَبِ ـ أَوْ قَالَ حَلْقَةِ الذَّهَبِ ـ وَعَنْ لُبْسِ الْحَرِيرِ، وَٱلدِّيبَاجِ، وَٱلسُّنْدُسِ، وَٱلْمَيَاثِرِ‏.‏

     wanahānā ʕan sabʕin, ʕan ḵātami ḏ-ḏahabi - ʔaw qāla ḥalqati ḏ-ḏahabi - waʕan lubsi l-ḥarīri, wad-dībāji, was-sundusi, wal-mayāṯiri.

     And he forbade us seven things: to wear golden signets – or golden rings –, to wear silk, silk brocade, fine silk or silk saddle-pillows.

     محاذير للأم الحامل: يجب على الحامل عدم استخدام أي من الأعشاب التالية أثناء الحمل وهي حشيشة الملاك، الأخيلية أم ألف ورقة، قاتل البق،عشبة النساء الزوفاء، النعناع البرية، الأفدرا السمفوطن المخزني، حشيشة الدود، شجرة مريم، الجنستج، عرق السوس، خاتم الذهب نظراً لأن هذه الأعشاب تقوم على تنشيط الرحم وبالتالي حدوث الإجهاض المبكر.

     Warnings for the pregnant mother: The pregnant woman should not use the following herbs after pregnancy: angelica, thousand-leaf, bugbane, the women’s herb hyssop, wild mint, ephedra, common comfrey, tansy, chaste tree, genista, liquorice, goldenseal, because these herbs further the activity of the uterus and therefore the occurrence of premature delivery.
