Derived from the active participle of the verb سَاحَ (sāḥa, to travel), from the root س ي ح (s-y-ḥ).

سَائِح (sāʔiḥm (plural سَائِحُونَ (sāʔiḥūna) or سُيَّاح (suyyāḥ), feminine سَائِحَة (sāʔiḥa))
