Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Proto-Turkic *tōl- (to be full); cognate with Azerbaijani dolmaq, Bashkir тулыу (tulıw), Chuvash тул (tul), Kazakh толу (tolu), Kyrgyz толуу (toluu), Uyghur تولۇق (toluq), Uzbek to'lmoq and Yakut туол (tuol).
