Borrowed from Ottoman Turkish قاچاقجی (kaçakçı) or Azerbaijani qaçaqçı. Analyzable as قاچاق (qâčâq, smuggling) +‎ ـچی (-či, occupational suffix). Compare Urdu قاچاقی (qāčāqī).
