Phrase

لَهُ كُلُّ ٱلْمَجْدِ (lahu kullu l-majdi)

  1. (Christianity) all glory be to him; an expression of praise commonly used after mentioning Christ
    اَلسَّيِّدُ ٱلْمَسِيحُ لَهُ كُلُّ ٱلْمَجْدِ أَمَرَنَا بِالسَّعْيِ وَراءَ ٱلْقَداسَةِ
    as-sayyidu l-masīḥu lahu kullu l-majdi ʔamaranā bi-s-saʕyi warāʔa l-qadāsati
Christ, all glory be to him, has commanded us to strive for holiness.

Usage notes

  • The Christian phrase is similar to—and to some degree possibly mirrors—certain Islamic expressions (compare “see also” below). It is not used with the same automaticity, however.
