Compare with Central Kurdish چەرمگ (čarmig, “white”) and the Iranian borrowings: Old Armenian ճերմակ (čermak, “white (of a horse)”), Georgian ჭარმაკი (č̣armaḳi), ჭარმაგი (č̣armagi), ჭარმაღი (č̣armaɣi).
