Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Sanskrit *चूष्यति (cūṣyati), चूष्यते (cūṣyate, to be sucked), from the root चूष् (cūṣ). Cognate with Urdu چُوسنا (cūsnā) and Punjabi چُوسݨا (cūsṇā).
