[edit]Probably metathesized. Compare synonymous Hebrew גּוֹזָל (gōzāl), Christian Palestinian Aramaic ܓܘܙܠܐ (gVzalā), Jewish Babylonian Aramaic גּוֹזָלָא (gōzālā), likewise Jewish Palestinian Aramaic, Jewish Literary Aramaic, and Punic in the plant name 𐤇𐤑𐤓 𐤂𐤆𐤋 (ḥaṣīr gōzāl, “vervain”).
