Etymology[edit]

From ܢܓܪܐ(naggārāʾ, carpenter), from Akkadian 𒉄(naggāru [NAGAR]), from Sumerian 𒉄(nagar) + the abstract noun ending -ܘܬܐ(-ūṯāʾ). Compare Hebrew נַגָּרוּת(naggārûṯ).
