Inherited from Prakrit *𑀆𑀓𑁆𑀓𑀟𑀇 (*ākkaḍaï), denominal verb from *𑀆𑀓𑁆𑀓𑀟 (*ākkaḍa), possibly from Sanskrit आकृ॑त (ā́kṛta), from आ- (ā-) + कृ॒त (kṛtá).
