[edit]Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀅𑀝𑁆𑀞𑀕 (aṭṭhaga) without cluster simplification, from Sanskrit अष्टक (áṣṭaka), whence also Punjabi ਅੱਠਾ (aṭṭhā). Doublet of अष्टक (aṣṭak). Equivalent to आठ (āṭh) + -आ (-ā).
