Inherited from Old Marathi 𑘄𑘬𑘿𑘘𑘹𑘽 (uṣṭeṃ), 𑘄𑘭𑘲𑘘 (usīṭa), from Maharastri Prakrit 𑀉𑀘𑁆𑀙𑀺𑀝𑁆𑀞 (ucchiṭṭha).
