Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from Classical Persian متعلق (muta'alliq), from Arabic مُتَعَلِّق (mutaʕalliq), active participle of تَعَلَّقَ (taʕallaqa). Related to ताल्लुक़ (tālluq). Compare Punjabi ਮੁਤਅੱਲਕ (mutaallak), ਮੁਤੱਲਕ (mutallak), مُتعلق (mutʻlq).
