Etymology

From Sanskrit বহুত্ৱ (bahutva, much, many, very), from Proto-Indo-European *bʰenǵʰ- (thick). Compare Sylheti ꠛꠃ’ꠔ (boúto), Hindustani बहुत (bahut) / بہت (bahut), Gujarati બહુ (bahu).
