Inherited from Apabhramsa सायर (sāyara), from Prakrit 𑀲𑀸𑀬𑀭 (sāyara), 𑀲𑀸𑀕𑀭 (sāgara), from Sanskrit सागर (sāgara, sea). Doublet of সায়র (śaẏor).
