Etymology[edit]

Inherited from Old Gujarati एतलौ (etalau), from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀏𑀢𑁆𑀢𑀺𑀮 (ettila), 𑀏𑀢𑁆𑀢𑀼𑀮 (ettula​​​), extended and influenced by Sanskrit एष (eṣa), from Sanskrit इयत्तक (iyattaká). Cognate with Assamese এতেক (etek), Hindi इतना (itnā), Odia ଏତକ (etôkô), Maithili एतना (ētᵊnā), Rajasthani इतरो (ītaro), and Sindhi ايتِرو (etiro).
