Inherited from Prakrit 𑀚𑀼𑀡𑁆𑀡 (juṇṇa) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-), from Sanskrit जूर्ण (jūrṇa), variant of जीर्ण (jīrṇa). Cognate to Marathi जुने (june).
