Borrowed from Classical Persianبت(bat, duck) (perhaps with the diminutive suffix ⁧ـه(-a)), a wanderwort related to Arabicبَطَّة(baṭṭa), ⁧بَطّ(baṭṭ), Armenian բադ (bad), among others.
