[edit]Inherited from Old Gujarati वरसइ (varasaï), from Prakrit 𑀯𑀭𑀺𑀲𑀇 (varisaï), from Sanskrit वर्षति (varṣati). Cognate with Hindustani برسنا / बरसना (barasnā), Odia ବରଷିବା (barashibā), and Romani briśind.
