Etymology[edit]

सत्य (satya, truth) +‎ आग्रह (āgraha, insistence, pertinacity). Coined by Indian freedom fighter Gandhi in 1908, who says in his autobiography that Maganlal Gandhi coined an earlier version of it, સદાગ્રહ (sadāgrah).
