Etymology
[edit]Cognate with Kodava ಪೂಞೆ (pūñe, “cat”), Kuvi ପୂସେ (pūse, “cat”), Tamil பூனை (pūṉai, “cat”), பூசை (pūcai, “cat”) and Tulu ಪುಚ್ಚೆ (pucce, “cat”). False cognate of Tagalog pusa.
