  1. ചന്ദ്രക്കല (candrakkala). Malayalam diacritic for virama; it is used to signify the lack of an inherent vowel.
  2. Used to denote a ചില്ലക്ഷരം (cillakṣaraṁ) (conjunct consonants)
  3. Word finally it either represent a സംവൃതോകാരം (saṁvr̥tōkāraṁ) or a വിരാമം (virāmaṁ).
  4. (computing) Used to combine two Malayalam consonant letters together
