A Malayalam diacritic for യ (ya) called കീയക്കൂട്ടം or വീച്ചിൽ, when appended to a constant, it can indicate a conjunct consonant followed by /ja/ or palatalization in some cases.

Usage notes
[edit]- This grapheme is appended to the right side of a consonant, it changes the syllable from /◌ɐ/ to /◌jɐ/ or palatalize the consonant if appended to any of the following or the geminate of the following consonants ക (ka), ങ (ṅa), റ്റ (ṟṟa), ഩ (ṉa), ന (na), ര (ra), ല (la), ള (ḷa), ഴ (ḻa), റ (ṟa).
e.g. സി (IPA:/si/) becomes സ്യി (IPA:/syi)
