Etymology
[edit]From Khmer កម្ពុជាធិបតី (kɑɑmpuciəthɨptəy, literally “Greater Cambodia”),[1] from កម្ពុជា (kampuciə, “Cambodia”) + អធិបតី (ʼaʼthipaʼdəy, “principal; chief; etc”), equivalent to Thai กัมพูชา (gam-puu-chaa) + อธิบดี (à-típ-bɔɔ-dii).
