From Proto-Tai *k.temᴬ (full).[1] Cognate with Lao ເຕັມ (tem), Northern Thai ᨲᩮ᩠ᨾ, Khün ᨲᩮ᩠ᨾ, ᦎᦲᧄ (ṫiim), Shan တဵမ် (tǎem), Tai Dam ꪹꪔꪸꪣ, Nong Zhuang daem, Zhuang rim.
