Particularly: “Doesn't seem to be mentioned by STEDT (closest thing is "yui-: mock", which is given no etymology). MED considers the word atomic, which is probably correct, as meanings for the component syllables (sa., to keep trim and presentable, sharpen a spear) and ရော် (rau, to call or cry, yearn; to wither, age) do not seem to be related (though the "call or cry" could be related). Note the striking similarity of the whole word, including both syllables, to Old Chinese (OC *ʔr'eːw, “to mock, ridicule; to twitter”).”
