Etymology

From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old Georgian სიცხჱ (sicxē), ultimately from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Kartvelian *c₁x- by adding a circumfix whose modern equivalent is სი- -ე (si- -e). Cognate with Mingrelian ჩხანა (čxana), Laz ჩხვაფა (çxvapa) and Svan იშხი (išxi, burning).
