From Proto-Kartvelian verbal roots *q̣w(l)ep-, *q̣w(l)ip-, *q̣w(l)p- ‎(to scratch off; to strip off; to fade). Cognate with Georgian ყვლეფა ‎(q̇vlepa).

Ačaṙean derives from Armenian. See in ყვლეფა ‎(q̇vlepa)
