From Old Persian 𐎠𐎼𐎡𐎹𐎠𐎼𐎶𐎴 (a-r-i-y-a-r-m-n /⁠Aryāramna-⁠/, literally the one who creates peace for the Aryans),[1] from 𐎠𐎼𐎡𐎹 (a-r-i-y, Aryan) + 𐎼𐎶𐎴 (r-m-n, peace, probably from Proto-Indo-European *h₁rem- (to rest) (compare Persian رامش (delight, joy) and آرام (rest, peace), from the same root)).
