Ancient Greek

Etymology

From Proto-Indo-European *h₁eh₃l(e)n-, ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *Heh₃l-. Cognates include Sanskrit अरत्नि (aratní), Latin ulna, Old Armenian ողն (ołn), ուլն (uln), Albanian llërë and Old English elnboga (English elbow). This reconstruction however remains uncertain.[1]
