Spanish

Etymology

Abbreviation of cada uno or cada una (“each one”)

Symbol

  1. each one

Usage notes

The ℆ symbol is used in Spanish item pricing—in a fashion similar to traditional use of the @ (“each priced at”) symbol in English.

Example:
apples @ $4
manzanas $4 ℆

Note: the @ symbol itself—in Spanish and Portuguese—is the symbol for arroba; an old measure of weight and/or volume.
