Japanese[edit]

An edition of the Tsurezuregusa which uses iteration marks for げにげに and ところどころ. The latter has a dakuten.

Etymology[edit]

+ .

Punctuation mark[edit]

  1. (dated) A kana iteration mark which indicates that the previous two to four kana characters should be reduplicated, with the first kana voiced. Used only in vertical text.

Usage notes[edit]

Do not confuse it with the hiragana (gu). The kana iteration mark is twice as long in vertical text.
