From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Middle Chinese compound 年號年号 (nen hawH, literally year + call). Compare modern (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Mandarin reading niánhào, (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Cantonese nin4 hou6.
