[edit]Contraction of 마마 (mama) and honorific particle 님 (nim) mainly used in colloquial or dialectal speech by servants of rich families in countryside; the full form was used when speaking to people in government positions.

- Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
