Korean

비오리

Etymology

First recorded in the Dusi Eonhae, 1481, as "빗올히." Probably from (bit, “comb”) + 올히 (olhi, “duck”) (archaic form of 오리). These fish-eaters have sharply serrated bills, hence also known as sawbill, Dutch zaagbek, Spanish serreta, and Korean "comb duck."
