Korean

Etymology

From 사과 (謝過, sagwa, “apology”) and the native Korean verb 하다 (hada, “to do”).

Pronunciation

  • (SK Standard/Seoul) IPA(key): [ˈsʰa̠(ː)ɡwa̠ɦa̠da̠]
  • Phonetic hangul: [(ː)]
    • Though still prescribed in Standard Korean, most speakers in both Koreas no longer distinguish vowel length.
