Etymology

From Proto-Iranian *Hacwabāráh, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Haćwabʰāras. Analyzable as 𐎠𐎿 (asa, horse) +‎ 𐎲𐎠𐎼 (bāra-, carried by, rider), the latter from Proto-Indo-European *bʰer-. See also Ասպուրակէս (Aspurakēs).
