Compare Avestan ๐ฌ๐ฌ€๐ฌ™๐ฌ€- (kata-, โ€œhouse/home, pitโ€), Persian ฺฉุฏ (kad, โ€œhouseโ€). See Proto-Finno-Ugric *kota for more possible cognates. The sense 'verse', is a semantic loan from Old Armenian ีฟีธึ‚ีถ (tun).
