Probably developed from *๐•š๐•’๐•ก๐•Ž-๐•š๐•’๐•ก๐•Ž (*sun-sun, โ€œone-oneโ€), a reduplication of ๐•š๐•’๐•ก๐•Ž (sun, โ€œoneโ€). Compare Old Armenian ีดีซีดีฅีกีถึ (mimeancสป) for the formation.
