From Old Persian [script needed] (hakaram, once), from Proto-Iranian *ha-karam (once), from *ha- (one, single) +‎ *karah (time(s)), with the first component related to Proto-Iranian *ham- (together).[1][2][3] Compare Parthian 𐭀𐭊 (ag), Northern Luri ٸە (əə).
