From Proto-Semitic *ʾanāku. Cognate with Hebrew אָנוֹכִי (ʾānôḵî) and Phoenician 𐤀𐤍𐤊 (ʾnk, I) / 𐤀𐤍𐤊𐤉 (ʾnky, I).
