From Proto-Semitic *ʾanāku. Cognate with Akkadian 𒀀𒈾𒆪 ‎(anāku, I) and Phoenician 𐤀𐤍𐤊 ‎(ʾnk, I) / 𐤀𐤍𐤊𐤉 ‎(ʾnky, I).
