Etymology
[edit]From Proto-Indo-Aryan *Hr̥gʰaHyáti, from Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hr̥gʰaHyáti, from Proto-Indo-European *h₁r̥gʰ-eh₂-yé-ti, from *h₁ergʰ- (“to move”) + *-eh₂yéti. Cognate with Ancient Greek ἔρχομαι (érkhomai), ὀρχέομαι (orkhéomai).
