Etymology[edit]

From -ից ‎(-icʿ) +‎ ‎(-s, adverbial suffix). The -ից ‎(-icʿ) is either from Proto-Indo-European with a parallel in Old High German zuiski or is the genitive-dative ending of երից ‎(ericʿ), չորից ‎(čʿoricʿ) applied to the rest by analogy.
